From my morning dog walk over to our new land... things are starting to grow despite the lack of rain! Nature is incredibly resilient.
Of course I’ll soon be ripping 90% of those things up so they don’t choke out the trees I carefully planted!

I actually cut a ton of dandelions that went to seed in my own yard, and spread the seeds out on the worst parts of the new land - mainly where logging roads go straight up/down the fall line. Dandelions... weeds... meh?

Thank you. What you can’t see is a clear, unobstructed view of a trailer park. The previous owners of the land, I think, cut too much and realized that their house would be staring down at the trailer park. So... they sold the land I guess. They took nearly all the timber of any value too. But I don’t mind having a clearing, we’re planting evergreens, and it gives us a nice area for a garden, maybe some solar PV, and I skied on the hill a bunch this winter. Also MTB trails.

To be honest... dandelion leaves in a salad with some balsamic vinegar, salt and black pepper ...tasty.

That’s a pleasant view. Best of luck on managing the growth. It’s a lot of work to go from clear cut to hardwoods without the steps in between. Good start to it!

Indeed. Thanks. I’m planning to attempt management of some of it, and let other areas just go nuts. I can’t manage 2.4 acres of clear cut by myself with no tractor. It’s too steep even if I did have a tractor, anyway. But I’m doing what I can!

Yeah, the view of the trailer park sounds fixable and worth it in the short term for what we can see in the pic.
